Transcript of video "How Important are Medical Device Acquisitions to Contract Research Organisations (CRO's)?"
Gerald Turner:
I suppose that what has happened in the past, I think you kind of alluded to it is when small medical device CROs have been purchased by large pharmacy ROs despite all the good intentions and all the things that were said at the close, they tend to loose their spark if they will and disappear in the organisation quite quickly.Helen Colquhoun:
Yes, yes, I think that is right. So it is my challenge to make sure that doesn’t happen. I think what is on my side is that the market is changing and there is a prediction that in five to ten years time maybe 40% of clinical trial revenues could come from medical device / delivery combination products trials, so it is important for even a pharmacy RO to have a credible device division because the market is definitely going to be changing in the future.Sale of a Business. Helen Colquhoun, CEO of Pleaid Devices, explains the imporatnace of medical device acqusitions to contract research organisations (CRO's).
