Sale of a business Welcome to Corporate Finance Television. Today we will be giving you the knowledge to choose by discussion the issues which should be considered when selling your owner managed business to a PLC in the sale of a business. Now principally there are three issues which I think are really important to be considered in the sale of a business. The first is that there is a big difference between the personality and culture both corporately and on an individual basis of the people that work at a PLC and make the buying decision of buying a company and the people who start an owner managed business, run that business and then ultimately want to exit. So we need to consider that.
The second issue we need to consider is valuation techniques. So how does a PLC value a business and it is significantly different from how an owner manager would value a business and how other types of buyers like a financial buyer would value a business.
Thirdly, and very briefly, just to touch on the housekeeping aspects of selling to a PLC and the sale of a business.
Sale of a Business. Neil Ackroyd explains what issues should be considered in the sale of a business to a PLC.
